Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Thomas Hammarberg took part today in the PACE session. Europe bureau says that he rendered a report to the assembly members on the annual activity of the commissariat.
Commissioner said that the Karabakh conflict must be solved peacefully: "The international community accepts that the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs are occupied in the peaceful settlement of this conflict. first of all the "Minsk trinity" bears responsibility on it. I hope that we will be able to occupied with the humanitarian problems and the issues appeared from the human rights. The co-chairs work very intensively recently. But the peaceful settlement of the conflict, as well as the state of the human rights first of all depend on the political will of the sides.
