OSCE Office in Baku told that the meeting took place on April 8 at the invitation of the Public Chamber. The western diplomats accepted the invitation and decided to visit the Public Chamber together. As regards the aim of the meeting, the main intention was to listen to the positions of the political parties concerning the socio-political situation in the country. OSCE Office did not comment on the accusations that the western diplomats interfered in Azerbaijan’s internal affairs.
Representative of the U.S. embassy also attended the meeting with the Public Chamber. The U.S. embassy told SIA that the meeting had not been initiated by the embassy. The aim of the meeting was to familiarize with the views of the Public Chamber members on the socio-political situation in the country.
The UK, Italy and France embassy in Azerbaijan did not comment on the meeting.
