On April 11, Head of the European Union Office in Azerbaijan, Ambassador Roland Kobia was invited to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
The government of Azerbaijan expressed its dissatisfaction and regret on the EU statement on fundamental freedoms in Azerbaijan issued on April 7, 2011 at the OSCE Permanent Council meeting, press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told SIA.
The government of Azerbaijan said the statement was prepared on the basis of partial and wrong reports of biased character and didn’t describe realities. This statement is against the spirit of Azerbaijan-EU relations and is unacceptable. It was noticed to the opposite side that the Azerbaijani government is committed to the principles of democratic development, caring out its commitments undertaken before the international organizations and continuing cooperation with the international organizations.
