Azerbaijan will soon approve rules for using airspace that will allow civilians to buy aircrafts, Azerbaijani State Civil Aviation Administration Chief (SCAAA) Arif Mammadov told journalists. "The existing law "on Aviation" does not provide the right to civilians to use general aviation. But given the demand, the administration is carrying out relevant work in this area," Mammadov said.
Mammadov noted that the "Rules on utilization of Azerbaijan’s air space" would be approved: "at first it is needed to learn if the airports have conditions to receive the flying apparatus and give fuel, and on which height these apparatus will fly. We have determined the terms for light planes on this rules. For example, the rules for the planes having more than 600 kg and the other flying apparatus will be very severe".
