The Russian Foreign Ministry commented on a trilateral meeting between Russian, Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents scheduled for March 5 in the Russian city of Sochi.
Trilateral format of talks on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict enabled to reconcile positions of the sides and strengthen confidence- building measures, said representative of the Russian foreign ministry Alexander Lukashevich.
He noted that during the Astrakhan meeting Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan expressed readiness to continue work on fundamental principles for the conflict resolution.
"We believe during the Sochi meeting President Medvedev will get an opportunity to analyze work carried out in the period between the summits and determine future steps to find a mutually acceptable solution to the Karabakh conflict," he said.
