Ramil Usubov:"The great majority in Azerbaijan realize well the truth concern with the hijab, the essence and the source of the problem"
Azerbaijan’s Interior Minister Ramil Usubov spoke about the hijab-related problems in the country. SIA reports that the Minister gave an interview to the Azerbayjan newspaper. "Anti-Azerbaijani force must know that any disgraced attempt against our state and people will fail as always. All our employees are attentive and vigilant in combating religious extremism, radicalism. The relevant organs will stay off the attempts aiming to violate stability in the country," he said.Ramil Usubov said the great majority of Azerbaijani people realize well the truth concern to the hijab, the substance and the source of the problem."Azerbaijan is a country accepts high Islamic values as fundamental moral principles, as well as one of the best examples of religious tolerance in the world. Cultures, religions and faiths live in the atmosphere of peace and high-level mutual understanding in the country. No one is forbidden to perform the rites and wear clothes envisaged in his (her) religion. Our women and girls are free to wear hijab, there is no prohibition. But those who do not like the progressive society with freedom of belief put forth a new claim – girls must wear hijab at schools. This approach is intolerable in terms of the values characteristic of the worldly and civil society. Uniform has been determined for the pupils of the secondary schools. If anybody wants to cloth in his daughter to hijab, he can do it out of the school,at home. Azerbaijani women have made her choice: to be free and independent, to use her potential for the development of her nation and country. Women have important role and high position in the society in modern Azerbaijan and there is absolute guarantee for their right to be free and competent citizen. We are proud of Azerbaijani women high moral qualities, honor, pride and honesty. They have incontestable role in the sphere of socio-political life, science, education, culture and other in our country.
R. Usubov also noted that the morality, ethics are not determined only with outer appearance: "We must give importance to the enrichment of people’s especially the teenagers and youth’s spirit and their adaptation to the national values. I consider that religious figure must pay attention to these issues. They must hold away our citizens from fanaticism, ignorance, extremism, radicalism".
R.
