Company Azermarka of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies has issued a postage stamp dedicated to the 100th anniversary of academician Shafayat Mehdiyev. The 100th anniversary of Shafayat Farhad oglu Mehdiyev, prominent Azerbaijani scholar, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Professor, Honoured Scientist, State Prize winner, academician, will be celebrated in December, 2010.
Besides, it is worth noting that taking into account his contribution for the development of science in the field of petroleum geology in the country and rich teaching career, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on holding the 100th anniversary of Shafayat Mehdiyev on November 8. Face value of the stamp is 0.6 AZN, print run – 100,000 copies.
