"Freedom of speech has always been provided in Azerbaijan. The care and attention to press is at high level." Deputy Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party, Siyavus Novruzov told SIA commenting on 140th anniversary of Azerbaijani National Press.
According to NAP official, after Azerbaijani National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s second return to power, attention and care to press has become priority for the government: " We have witnessed several significant aids to press by the government; freezing the debts, lifting censorship on press, creating all suitable condition for every newspaper, as well, giving assistance to press by the government."
"Azerbaijan is the one of rare countries in the world, where the State Fund for the Support of Mass Media Development under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan acts. Each outlet gets equal aid by Azerbaijani government, despite its position. In 2013, 155 appartments presented to journalists in Azerbaijan. Construction works of new apartments for journalists are ending. The process is going on. I congratulate all press employees. Their role is great on development and strenghtening of independence of Azerbaijan." Siyavus Novruzov added.
"Today the freest internet system runs in Azerbaijan. There are various news portals, sites. They can freely exspress their opinions, comments, as well deliver to public different party and politicians’ positions. In this regard, freedoms of speech and press, have always been protected in Azerbaijan, and after that will be." stressed Deputy Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party.
