"Azerbaijan’s energy resources have been focused on the improvementof social well-being of the population. We fulfilled these reforms while the Armenian aggression is on. A million Azerbaijanis have become refugees and IDPs." Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev told at the 48th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank, SIA informs.
According to Azerbaijani President, so far the negotiations have been carried out without results for 20 years. It is surprising to see an occupying country continues to be unpunished in the XXI century.
Azerbaijani President stressed that the 4 resolutions of the UN have not been implemented for the years. This demonstrates that international law is applied under the influence of certain interests and certain countries. Azerbaijan faced a humanitarian disaster due to refugees and IDPs.
"For development of our economy we need of peace and stability. We had to develop our country in the state of occupation because we could achieve our ambitions. We have followed by this path. We are trying to resolve the conflict by negotiations. At the same time the conflict has to be resolved within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is a member a number of international organizations. European Commission, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. With support of more that 155 states Azerbaijan elected a non-permanent member of Security Council of the UN." added Mr Aliyev.
