Defense Ministry of Republic of Azerbaijan has issued a statement the result of an analysis on the Armenian Mi-24 military helicopter which was shot down while attacking on the Azerbaijani army’s positions in Aghdam region on November 12, SIA reports.
An animated event model, prepared with reference to the opinions of experts in military aircraft and operational intelligence data, clearly shows that the helicopters’ crews, following combat instructions, were executing a task to strike the Azerbaijani army positions on the front line.
"After completion of this task, that is, after shelling our positions, the enemy helicopters, manoeuvring and covering each other, began to leave the zone of fire," the ministry said.
Taking into account that the Armenian side’s manipulating the reports about the incident, the ban on all flights over the occupied territories and the assessment of the unauthorized flights over these territories as a violation, we state that the enemy military helicopter which opened fire on Azerbaijan’s positions, was destroyed by a retaliatory fire", the statement said.
An Armenian Mi-24 military helicopters of the Armenian Armed Forces flying in the direction of Aghdam region attacked the Azerbaijani positions on November 12. One of the two enemy helicopters was shot down and 3 pilots were killed by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.
