Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been opened in Kharkov, Ukraine.
Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Ukraine Eynulla Madatli, representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries, and representatives of local authorities attended the event, SIA reports.
"The consular district along with the Kharkiv region includes Donetsk, Zaporozhye, Poltava, Sumy and Chernihiv regions. Among the main objectives there is an expanding of economic and humanitarian ties between the two countries. Consulate also intends to promote the development of Azerbaijani Diaspora in the areas of the county, to protect their rights and interests, " the honorary consul Afghan Salmanov said.
Afghan Salmanov also stressed that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev attaches great importance to enhancing cooperation with Ukraine.
