"The Armenian reconnaissance-raiding groups have again attacked our positions on the frontline in the direction of Aghdam-Aghdara on August 1 and on the night of August 2," the press service of Azerbaijan`s Defence Ministry has told SIA.
"Thanks to the valour of servicemen of our armed forces` units, the attack was resolutely repulsed. The enemy was forced to retreat suffering loses."
The following four servicemen of the Azerbaijani armed forces were killed in the incident: Warrant Officer Aliyev Parvin Salahaddin oghlu, Junior Warrant Officer Huseynov Rahil Afsar oghlu, Junior Warrant Officer Ahmadov Elchin Rasim oghlu and Career Serviceman Guliyev Sarkhan Geyrat oghlu.
"The leadership of the Defence Ministry offers its deepest condolences to the parents and relatives of the martyrs and wishes them patience," the statement added.
According to the Defence Ministry, "the situation in that direction is fully under control of the Azerbaijani armed forces".
