Speaker of the Parliament of Azerbaijan Ogtay Asadov has today met a delegation led by Secretary-General of the European People’s Party, Executive Secretary of the Centrist Democrat International Antonio Lopez-Isturiz White, SIA reports.
Ogtay Asadov noted that the country’s leading party New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) attached special importance to deepening bilateral ties with the European People’s Party and the Centrist Democrat International.
He noted that the continuation of successful cooperation with these organizations was one of the main priorities of the YAP.
Ogtay Asadov said the YAP had been closely cooperating with a number of worldwide political organizations from different countries.
"We will continue our relationship with the European People’s Party and the Centrist Democrat International in the future," said Ogtay Asadov.
Secretary-General of the European People’s Party, Executive Secretary of the Centrist Democrat International Antonio Lopez-Isturiz White expressed satisfaction to be in Azerbaijan and the meetings he held in the country.
He said the European People’s Party, Executive Secretary of the Centrist Democrat International observed ongoing processes in the South Caucasus, and attached great importance to the development of relations with Azerbaijan’s leading party YAP.
Antonio Lopez-Isturiz White stressed the importance of the discussions with the YAP leadership in Baku, and said the organizations intended to deepen the bilateral relations.
Member of the Azerbaijani parliament Asaf Hajiyev and other official were present at the meeting.
