"American OSCE MG co-chair does not contact with the representatives of the Azerbaijani community of Karabakh," SIA reported.
I am a staunch supporter that within its capabilities the OSCE Minsk Group should increase diplomatic pressure on Armenia, obliging it to comply with the requirements of international law in relation to the occupied Azerbaijani territories.
The statement came from Azerbaijani MP Rovshan Rzayev, commenting on the recent call by U.S. co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group , James Warlick, addressed to the Swedish government to continue their joint work on the Nagorno -Karabakh conflict.
"Thanks to Sweden and personally [ Foreign Minister ] Carl Bildt for his active participation in the settlement of the [ Nagorno-Karabakh ] conflict. Let us continue working together in the South Caucasus", Warlick wrote on Twitter.
According to the Azerbaijani MP, such initiatives can only be welcomed, but they are not enough to qualitatively expedite the settlement of the Armenian- Azerbaijani conflict.
"The matter is that the consultations and meetings of the co-chairs of the participating countries of OSCE Minsk Group should be not only informative, but also bring constructivism in the negotiating process. It is important to understand what initiatives Sweden proposes , and what specific proposals it may set before the parties to the conflict. So far, all these questions are not clear. As for the American co-chair , personally I have a lot of questions to him for which I failed to receive answers. I have repeatedly tried to establish contact with Mr. James Warlick on Twitter, but to no avail. Unfortunately, the U.S. co-chair does not contact with the representatives of the Azerbaijani community of Karabakh, being in Azerbaijan , although that does not stop him all the time to keep in touch with the Armenian community of Nagorno-Karabakh. I think it would be fair if the American co-chair demonstrated equitable diplomacy against members of both the conflicting parties within his competence", he said.
