Azerbaijan not going to render financial aid to Ukraine – official
"Azerbaijan has no intention to provide financial assistance to Ukraine," said Novruz Mammadov, deputy chief of staff and chief of department for foreign relations at the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, according to SIA.
No one and no organization has asked Azerbaijan to provide a financial assistance to Ukraine, he added.
Earlier, EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Catherine Ashton said that the United States, European Union, as well as Azerbaijan, Japan and Norway will create a donor group to provide financial assistance to Ukraine.
It was stated that the financial aid will be provided after the EU imposes sanctions on Ukraine.
"All these news are speculative in nature. The Azerbaijani government has not yet taken any decision over this issue," Mammadov stressed.
