The House of Commons of the British Parliament held debates on Nagorno-Karabakh upon MP Stephen Pound’s initiative on February 11.
Parliamentary Under Secretary for State Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Mark Simmonds also addressed the debates, SIA reported.
This conflict continues to be a setback for development of both Armenia and Azerbaijan and it is a source of instability and concern for the future of South Caucasus, said Simmonds.
The conflict is sometimes described as a frozen conflict. But it is not right, he added.
"The battles still continue to this day. The United Kingdom is concerned over violation of ceasefire on the contact line. There are news that ceasefire violations increased in January and February."
The United Kingdom supports the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, he noted.
