An Azerbaijani delegation has participated in "Tastes of Asia–A Cultural Journey: Asian Peace through Cultural Understanding" first Youth Asia Conference in Miri, Malaysia.
The delegation was led by president of Azerbaijan National Culinary Association and chair of the UNESCO Traditional Food Committee Tahir Amiraslanov.
Speaking to the opening ceremony, Azerbaijani Ambassador in Malaysia Galey Allahverdiyev highlighted his country`s contribution to strengthening global intercultural and interfaith dialogue. He hailed tolerance in Azerbaijan, saying representatives of different cultures and religions have been peacefully co-existing here for centuries. The Ambassador lauded the role of first lady Mehriban Aliyeva in preserving and promoting Azerbaijan`s national and cultural values worldwide.
In his speech, Amiraslanov provided an insight into the Azerbaijani national cuisine.
The event featured the launch of Amiraslanov`s book. The participants were offered Azerbaijani national dishes, and viewed national clothes as well as photos reflecting national leader Heydar Aliyev`s career and life.
