The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has started negotiations regarding the Armenian man detained on the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenian troops, SIA reports.
Head of public affairs department of the ICRC Delegation in Azerbaijan Ilaha Huseynova said ICRC, under its mandate, is negotiating with the relevant bodies to meet with Armenian citizens.
Armenian subversive group attempted to cross the frontline in the direction of Alibeyli village of Tovuz region at around 15:00. Azerbaijani troops on the frontline prevented the attempt. After a brief shootout, Azerbaijani soldiers captured Mamiko Khojayan, the armed and wounded guide of Armenian subversive group.
The investigation on the Armenian captive’s activity is still underway.
