Lithuania has always advocated and is advocating now for the EU to take a more serious and more significant role in the conflict settlement, including the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Lithuanian ambassador to the Eastern Partnership Vaidotas Verba told the media in Baku.
"The EU must not remain indifferent to the situation in neighboring regions," he said. "As co-chairmen of the EU, we will do everything we need to. We will stimulate this issue and take all steps that may lead to the conflict's settlement."
He added that the declaration may be adopted within the Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius in November, which will reflect a position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
"If such a declaration is adopted, it will be because of Lithuania," he said.
