Embassy of Azerbaijan to Italy has arranged an official dinner at St. Regis hotel in Rome to mark Azerbaijan's Republic Day - May 28, SIA reports citing AzerTAc.
The event brought together Italy's government officials, members of parliament, representatives of the largest local companies, diplomatic corps and mass media.
Addressing the audience, Ambassador Vagif Sadigov spoke of the significance of the Republic Day (May 28) for Azerbaijan, the date on which 95 years ago the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the first-ever secular democracy in the entire Muslim world was established. The Ambassador noted that this important event played a crucial role in strengthening of national statehood traditions of the Azerbaijani people.
He praised the Italy-Azerbaijan relations.
