Opening the event, Czech Ambassador to Azerbaijan Radek Matula expressed his satisfaction for marking this day in Azerbaijan, Gun.Az reports.
He said that though relations with neighboring countries are priority for Czech Republic, this does not mean to form relations only in political direction.
Existing political and economic relations with Azerbaijan is a vivid example to it.
The diplomat remembered the reciprocal visits of the two countries' heads of state and underlined the presence of high cooperation between Azerbaijan and Czech Republic.
Matula noted that in 2011, trade between the two countries made up USD 1,9bn, which means 46% increased compared to 2010.
"There is a strong cooperation between the two countries. We are interesting in keeping the tendency of relations and develop our economic cooperation."
