Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov met with the Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem on Syria’s initiative within Non-Aligned Movement Summit in Tehran.
Press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that the sides discussed the non-permanent membership of Azerbaijan in the UN Security Council and expressed mutual support for sovereignty and territorial integrity of both countries.
Mammadyarov expressed the position of Azerbaijan concerning the situation in the Middle East, particularly in Syria.
