The outgoing Israeli ambassador, Mikael Lotem is to return home after three years of work in Azerbaijan in late August.
The statement came from Israeli IzRus. According to the agency, the embassy in Baku will be led by Rafi Arpaz, director of the first economic department of the Israeli Foreign Ministry (North and South America, Africa). He has been serving as diplomat for over 20 years, worked in Washington, Sweden, Switzerland and Code d'Ivoir.
He has no experience of work in the post-Soviet space. Head of the department for Central Europe and Eurasia of the Foreign Ministry Anna Azari said that the new envoy is planning to arrive in Baku in late August.
