Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has congratulated the Orthodox Christian community of the country on the occasion of Easter.
Congratulation says:
"Dear fellow countrymen!
I warmly congratulate all Christians of Azerbaijan on the occasion of Easter Holiday and wish you health and happiness.
For hundreds of years, members of different nations and religions have been living in Azerbaijan as a family in peace, tranquility, mutual understanding and respect, and have preserved their ethnicity, religion and culture. Having deep roots, tolerance and multiculturalism traditions are of main values of our contemporary society.
I say with pleasure that today all national minorities of our country regardless of language, religion and ethnicity, including Orthodox Christians, contribute in international and interreligious relations and are actively involved in all spheres of our socio-cultural life, and show activeness in forming civil society.
Easter holiday embodies senses of tranquility, solidarity mercy and compassion. In this beautiful day, I again wish you a festive mood, happiness and tranquility to your families.
Happy Holiday!"
