Hungarian MPs issue statement on Khojaly genocide

A group of Hungarian parliamentarians issued a statement on the 20th anniversary of Khojaly genocide.

Azerbaijani embassy in Hungary told that the statement was signed by Márton Gyöngyösi, head of Hungary-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group, deputy chairman of the parliament’s commission on foreign affairs.

The statement contained detailed information about Armenia’s aggression against Azerbaijan, the massacre committed by Armenians in Khojaly.

"According to the norms of the international law, Armenia carried out ethnic cleansing. The UN Security Council adopted four resolutions in 1993 in response to Armenian aggression, the resolutions condemn the violation of the norms of the international law, demand unconditional withdrawal of Armenian troops from the occupied territories.

The world media broadly covered the crime committed by Armenians. No serious changes have happened since then. It is unjust that the world community does not remember the tragedy of the Azerbaijanis, unlike other genocides, does not pay attention to the problems of more than one million Azerbaijanis. We demand just attitude towards Azerbaijan."
