Co-chairs of the OSCE MG to visit region next week
The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, the international body mediating a solution to the Karabakh conflict, are to visit the region.

The co-chairs - Robert Bradtke of the USA, Igor Popov of Russia and Jacques Faure of France - are to start their visit in Armenia on 2 March. They are to meet President Serzh Sargsyan and Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.

The co-chairs will come to Azerbaijan on 5 March, where they will meet President Ilham Aliyev and Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov on the 6th.

They are to discuss further steps towards resolving the Nagorno Karabakh conflict during the meetings.

All three of the Minsk Group co-chairs last visited the Karabakh conflict region at the end of November, though Bernard Fassier made a farewell visit in December as he completed his tenure as the French co-chair of the group.

Since then, the Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents met in Sochi with the mediation of the Russian president at the end of January. They said in a statement at the end of the meeting that progress had been made in reaching agreement on the basic principles of a Nagorno-Karabakh settlement.
