We will do our best for the
appointment of US ambassador to Azerbaijan soon", US Deputy Assistant
Secretary of State Eric Rubin said at the press conference on the
results of his visit to Azerbaijan.
"Matthew Bryza is a talented diplomat. He was doing professional and hard work here. President Obama appointed him because he considered him as the right candidate. But according to the US Constitution, the decision is made by the Senate. We suppose that it is important for the US to send its ambassador to Azerbaijan and we regret that Bryza didn’t remain in the post of US ambassador to Azerbaijan. We will do our best for the appointment of new ambassador soon".
Rubin said the US embassy was continuing working under the guidance of the Charge d’Affaires Adam Sterling.
