The
Armenia-initiated document signed by some PACE deputies about the so-called
recognition of independence of Nagorno-Karabakh has no legal force.
The statement came from
head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE, Samad Seyidov.
He was speaking at the presentation of the book ‘Modern Azerbaijan’.
"If you look at the names of persons signing this document, you can
see that these are the same people who undersign all pro-Armenian documents in
PACE. Therefore, this document is of no fundamental significance for us,
including the Council of Europe ", he said.
According to him, under the procedure of PACE, any member can sign any
document, but it will have no legal effect and does not represent the position
of PACE or the Council of Europe.
"The position of PACE is clear, it supports the territorial integrity of
