The United States pursues an unbalanced policy in
the South Caucasus, Center for Political
Innovation and Technology Director Mubariz Ahmedoglu said at a press
conference.
"The U.S. pursues an Armenian-centrist policy in the South Caucasus region. One could observe this after Serzh
Sargsyan’s coming to power," he said.
He said Sargsyan has not
received enough votes in the presidential election of 2008.
"The U.S. have the most accurate information about
it, as they have an extensive network in Armenia that could monitor
elections in the country," Ahmedoglu said.
He said the U.S. tried to prevent the proliferation of a
scandal around the events occurred in Armenia on March 1, 2008. Under Washington’s pressure,
the European Parliament baffled investigation of these events, and now the PACE
wants to remove the issue from the agenda.
"Armenia has
always been used by other states as an instrument of influence in the
region," he said.
