A woman has given birth in a Buffalo fire station in the middle of a huge snowstorm that prevented her from getting to hospital.
Bethany Hojnacki went into labour at the height of the storm, but the snow-clogged roads made it impossible to reach nearby Mercy Hospital.
Desperate for help, her husband Jared noticed that firefighters were helping a motorist stuck in the snow near their house.
Incredibly, the trapped driver turned out to be a delivery nurse, who remained with Ms Hojnacki for about five hours until a fire department vehicle attempted to take the patient to hospital.
When that vehicle got stuck, firefighters took the woman to their firehouse, where she gave birth to a baby girl.
"Denise helped me to get in the right position, two pushes and out she came. They didn't act freaked out or anything. We got this. You'll be okay.'"" said Ms Hojnacki, referring to nurse Denise Perry.
Lucy, who was born around 9.30pm on Tuesday, weighed 6 pounds and 2 ounces (2.8kg).
