Heavy rain in North Korea killed 40 people and stranded thousands in flash floods, according to the International Federation of the Red Cross. "Massive damage" was caused on the weekend, the country’s media said.
SIA reports that more than 11,000 people were forced from their homes or otherwise affected by the floods, said Hler Gudjonsson, a spokesman for the Red Cross in Beijing. The floods hit the northeastern city of Rajin, near the border with Russia and China, on Saturday and Sunday.
