French Prime Minister Manuel Valls announced on Thursday that "several arrests" had been made overnight in the hunt for two men suspected of killing 12 people in an attack on satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo in Paris.

A day of national mourning is underway in France following the attack on the offices of satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo.
Twelve people died in the attack on the offices of Charlie Hebdo - eight journalists, two police officers, a maintenance worker and a visitor.
A nationwide manhunt is underway to find two suspects - Cherif Kouachi, 32, and his 34-year-old brother Said. Police say the two are, "armed and dangerous".
Seven people have been detained by the police in the hunt for the brothers.
A policewoman was killed in a shooting in the south of Paris on Thursday morning. Police are cautioning against linking the attack on yesterday’s murderous assault on satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo.
Tens of thousands of mourners took to the streets of French cities across the country on Wednesday evening after the shooting, chanting "Je suis Charlie" (I am Charlie) and holding pens and copies of the magazine over their heads. Similar rallies were held in capital cities around the world.
