Landslides triggered by heavy rains killed at least 27 people in the western Japanese city of Hiroshima, authorities said Wednesday.
At least 10 others are missing.
Residents combed through mud and debris to look for bodies and to retrieve belongings.
Authorities fear the toll may rise.
