An explosion ravaged a missile and rocket production factory in Ankara on Saturday, causing material damage along with several injuries among personnel, officials said.
The blast took place at rocket production facility run by ROKETSAN, a local defense firm that produces short range and medium-range missiles and rockets for the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK), in Elmadag, a district of Ankara.
What caused the explosion still remains unknown for the moment. Officials said ambulances rushed to the scene to take the injured to hospitals.
Reports did not mention a fatal incident while several personnel were injured at the explosion that came after two days that Turkey finalized its long-range air defense system tender by selection of the Chinese firm to co-produce the missile system.
An investigation has been launched into the incident to find out any attempt for sabotage at the production facility.
