On December 4, the 3rd Regional Internet Governance Forum (IGF) will be held in Baku within the framework of Azerbaijan International Telecommunications and Information Technologies Exhibition and Conference Bakutel 2015.
Forum will be held under the joint organization of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan (MCHT), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Baku Office.
The 3rd Regional Internet Governance Forum Azerbaijan (RIGFAZ 2015) will be held in ADA University Baku, Azerbaijan, under the motto "Creating Regional Development Environment of ICT Innovations".
The purpose of the event is to provide joint cooperation and exchange of experience between National ICT participants and international specialists, at the same time to ensure involvement of regions in the Regional Internet Governance of Azerbaijan which is a regional hub of the ICT development.
The representatives of Government of Azerbaijan and other foreign countries, business representatives, academic institutions and members of civil society will get together to discuss current issues related to the Internet.
On December 3-5, 2013 the 1st Regional Internet Governance Forum Azerbaijan (RIGFAZ) under the motto "Internet as an Engine for Regional Growth and Advancement" was held in Baku.
Note that after the 7th Internet Governance Forum, which took place on 6-9 November 2012 in Baku under the motto "Internet Governance for Sustainable Human, Economic and Social Development", and the interest to this sphere in Azerbaijan increased.
Prior to this event, Azerbaijan had participated in all previous IGFs - Athens (Greece) in 2006, Rio De Janeiro (Brazil) in 2007, Hyderabad (India) in 2008, Sharm-El-Sheikh (Egypt) in 2009, Vilnius (Lithuania) in 2010, Nairobi (Kenya) in 2011, and had exchange of experience and showed achievements.
