In 2013, complex measures were undertaken in order to equip Azerbaijan`s Armed Forces with modern hardware and facilities, as well as to further improve social welfare of servicemen, said Finance Minister Samir Sharifov.
Speaking to a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers chaired by President Ilham Aliyev to discuss results of the country`s socio-economic development in 2013 and outline tasks for 2014, the Minister pointed out that the military spending accounted for 15 percent (AZN 2,267,000,000) of the state budget last year.
