Russian President Vladimir Putin or Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin may attend the UN climate conference COP29, which will be held in Baku November 11-22, said Ruslan Edelgeriev, the Russian president's aide and special representative on climate issues, SİA informs via TASS.
"By presidential decree, I lead the Russian delegation. But this year, we hope that either the president or the prime minister - one of them will be there. Azerbaijan is a strategically important partner, and I would like, of course, for the status to be higher. Either the president or the prime minister should be at the opening, and then I would bring the main part of the negotiations to a logical conclusion," Edelgeriev added.
