Spain halts arms sales to Israel indefinitely

Spanish Foreign Minister Xose Manuel Albares has announced that Spain halted arms sales to Israel since October 7.

"We will not sell weapons to Israel as long as the current situation persists," said Xose Manuel Albares.

Albares held a press conference at the United Nations headquarters in New York, responding to a question about whether they would apply an arms embargo to Israel, SIA reports with reference to foreign media.

He stated that no new licenses for arms sales to Israel have been issued since October 7.

Emphasizing that they will not sell weapons to Israel as long as the current situation continues, Albares said, "We will not sell weapons to Israel as long as the current situation persists."

Albares also mentioned that Spain will provide financial assistance of 3.5 million euros to the United Nations Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and are exploring how this amount can be increased in the short term.
