Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission (CEC), announced Thursday that 1,489 people have submitted applications to participate in the Azerbaijani snap parliamentary elections scheduled for September 1, 2024.
He reported that the 459 candidacies have been submitted by 25 political parties, with 1389 candidacies confirmed by the CEC.
“The CEC has registered 481 candidacies for parliamentary seats so far”, Mazahir Panahov noted.
“1,333 candidacies have received signature sheets, with 802 already returned to constituency election commissions,” he added.
