Coffee itself has practically no calories (an 8-ounce cup of black coffee only contains five calories), but when consumed with sugar, cream and syrup, this can quickly lead to weight gain.
SIA refers to foreign sources that, even though coffee drinks like frappuccinos and lattes are delicious, certain specialty drinks are loaded with calories and added sugar.
"If syrups or whole milk are added to the drink, then coffee becomes a real dessert," the nutritionist Anastasia Efimova warns.
"A syrupy latte contains about 200 calories," she noted.
Two or three servings a day can significantly increase your daily calorie intake immensely. In this case, the doctor advised to drink coffee without sugar or a minimum amount and to add low-fat milk to the drink as an alternative.
