Compared to the months of January-July 2023, the total number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who left Azerbaijan for foreign countries increased by 23.1% and reached 1 million 223 thousand people. SIA was informed about this by the State Statistics Committee.
According to information, the number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan going to Iran increased by 37.8 percent, the number of those going to Turkey by 19.3 percent, the number of those going to the Russian Federation by 16.2 percent, and the number of those going to Georgia by 15.9 percent. 41.2 percent (503,876 people) of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan went to Turkey, 21.4 percent (261,722 people) to the Russian Federation, 8.7 percent (106,401 people) to Georgia, 8.6 percent (105,178 people) to Iran, 20, 1 percent (245,823 people) visited other countries. 65 percent of those who left were men, 35 percent were women.
68.9 percent of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who visited foreign countries in January-July 2024 used air, 28.9 percent used rail and car, and 2.2 percent used sea transportation.
