Official Moscow has expressed its opinion on the possibility of removing Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), which overthrew the government of Bashar al-Assad in Syria, from the list of terrorist organizations, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, answered a question on this at a briefing held today.
She said that Russia will proceed from an assessment of specific cases regarding the possibility of removing Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) from the list of terrorist organizations: "We will proceed from an assessment of specific events, specific circumstances. Of course, based on our legislation and international law," the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized.
