Turkish President: We are stronger now with Azerbaijan's membership in our organization

"We have become even stronger with Azerbaijan's membership in the D8," Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said this at the 11th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization, SİA reports.

"I say 'welcome' to brotherly Azerbaijan into our D-8 family," he said.

Erdogan noted that to develop the organization and expand its influence, it is necessary to 'open doors' for new members and partners.

"With Azerbaijan's accession to our organization today, we have become stronger than yesterday," he added.

The 'Islamic Eight' (D-8 - Organization for Economic Cooperation) is an international organization established in 1997 to develop economic cooperation between member countries (Türkiye, Iran, Nigeria, Egypt, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Bangladesh).
