Non-resident Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Bogota Mammad Talibov has discussed with the head of the European Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia Patricia Cortes Ortiz potential cooperation in the areas of trade, culture, education and consular issues, SİA informs.
"The European director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a fruitful meeting with Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Colombia Mammad Talibov, with residence in Mexico City, in which areas of mutual interest and potential cooperation for the coming year were reviewed, especially in commercial, cultural, educational and consular matters," the embassy wrote on X.
"In 2024, relations with Azerbaijan made significant progress, with the meetings of Foreign Minister Luis Gilberto Murillo with his counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov in the framework of the United Nations General Assembly and COP29 in Baku; and with the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, at COP16 in Cali. In addition, on two occasions the Government of Azerbaijan has provided humanitarian financial assistance to Colombia to mitigate the effects of climate emergencies."
