Hillary Clinton has joked that she would like an office with "fewer corners" as she side-stepped attempts to get her to declare she is running for the Oval Office.
The former secretary of state and first lady appeared on The Daily Show to promote her new book, Hard Choices, her account of four years as the US' chief diplomat. While part of the interview with host Jon Stewart focused on a series of national and international issues, it quickly shifted to speculation Mrs Clinton is eyeing a second run at the presidency in 2016.
Stewart introduced his guest by saying: "She's here solely for one reason: to publicly and definitively declare her candidacy for president of the United States ... I think."
At one point he joked: "I think I speak for everybody when I say, no one cares (about the book), they just want to know if you're running for president."
After making little headway with his line of questioning, Stewart tried a different approach - a career aptitude test.
"Do you like commuting to work or do you like a home office?" he asked Clinton, who replied she liked working from home.
When asked if she had a favourite shape for that office, Mrs Clinton laughed and replied coyly: "I think the world is so complicated, the fewer corners you can have the better."
Mrs Clinton considered running for president in 2004 when George W Bush was up for re-election, but decided against it.
After initially starting as the front-runner in 2008, she lost out to Barack Obama in the race to be the Democratic Party's nominee.
