Turkish President Abdullah Gul approved a new law which involved regulations of alcohol consumption. The new law approved by Turkish President restricts the consumption and advertising of alcohol. It bans companies producing alcoholic beverages from sponsoring events and sale of alcoholic drinks in shops between 10 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. It also introduces stricter penalties on drunk driving.
