Another Armenian presidential is on hunger strike

Armenian presidential candidate Aram Harutunyan declared a one-day hunger strike in front of the building of Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission, SIA reports quoting Armenian press.

On Wednesday Harutunyan said he will sit near the Commission’s building until 5pm Friday and then will withdraw his formal nomination for the presidential election.

"I am the one who will remain after February 18. Today they are playing children’s games with [the ruling Republican Party candidate, incumbent President] Serzh Sargsyan. He who remains in the ballot will have nothing to say on February 19. Some of the candidates will begin stuttering on February 19. Those people will not be in the political arena following February 18; but me and many other people will be there," Harutyunyan told reporters on Wednesday.

Armenia will hold presidential election on February 18.
