107,769 Syrians had fled to Turkey since the clashes began in Syria in April-May 2011.

FM Davutoglu said the number of Syrians, who arrived in Turkey after fleeing from the violence in their country, has reached 107,769 people as of October 30, 2012.

Regarding the shelter of fleeing Syrians, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that so far, 381.8 million Turkish Liras have been spent to meet the needs of the Syrians.

Davutoglu said further that 107,769 Syrians had fled to Turkey since the clashes began in Syria in April-May 2011.

Expressing Turkey's policy over developments in Syria, Davutoglu said there were no instructions taken from third parties in order to shape Turkey's decisions and added that it was all based on Turkey's national interest, regional vision and the adopted global values.

The foreign minister said also that restoration of peace and stability in Syria has a great importance for Turkey.

Mr. Davutoglu underlined that the Syrian crisis did not only affect the country itself but also the whole region and the Syrian crisis threatened the international and regional peace, security and stability as Syrian regime's interference in Syrians and inflow of refugees to the neighbouring countries increased.

He noted that Syrian crisis was the problem of not only Turkey but also the international community.

"Within this framework, first we have tried to synchronize the efforts for solution with Arab League and then, we supported UN, and lastly the Friends of Syria Group for their efforts within the scope of bringing solutions to the crisis, as needed, we led them. The "buffer zone" or "humanitarian corridor" in Syria has to be formed with the international community's common willpower and decision, not with solo decision," Ahmet Davutoglu said.
