The Azerbaijani Embassy in the United States has taken part in a ceremony of donations called "Solidarity for those affected by Hurricane Sandy".
According to the embassy, the event, held at the initiative of the Indonesian Embassy in the United States, also involved embassies of Turkey, Palestine, Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, Afghanistan, Tunisia and Libya.
In the corner, designated for Azerbaijan, were shown pictures and brochures on the history, culture, musical instruments and national dress of the country. Guests were presented samples of the national cuisine.
The funds collected from sales of samples of art and carpets by auction were transferred to a special fund set up for victims of Hurricane Sandy.
