First Solar Eclipse of 2024 begins on April 8th

The first solar eclipse of the year 2024 began on April 8th.

The Department of Astrophysics at Baku State University stated that this event is a total solar eclipse, SIA reports.

The eclipse started at 19:42 local time in Baku on April 8th and will end at 00:52 on April 9th. The eclipse event will last for 5 hours, 10 minutes, and 7 seconds. The total eclipse process will last for 3 hours, 16 minutes, and 45 seconds.

The total eclipse will be visible from Mexico, the USA, and Canada. Partial eclipse, on the other hand, will be visible from virtually everywhere in North America, from the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

Since Azerbaijan is located below the solar horizon, this event will not be observable in the country.
